The Ramadan season provided CPHM with good opportunities to connect with the Muslim community in informal and friendly settings. As such, CPHM and Muslim NGO Global Unity Network jointly organised a buka puasa session in Klang on July 2.

The event was attended by 46 people comprising representatives from Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS), Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (MAIS) and over 20 pastors from the Klang Valley.

To foster better inter-faith understanding, both the President of Global Unity Network, Shah Kirit bin Kakulal, and Rev. Matthew Punnoose from the St. Thomas Mar Thoma church shared the significance of fasting in Islam and Christianity. This was followed by a light quiz to test participants’ understanding of the Muslim fast, with JAIS-sponsored hampers given out as prizes.
