Segamat District Peace and Harmony Dinner

A massive crowd of 1,200 people turned up for the CPHM Peace and Harmony Dinner on Aug. 12 in Segamat, Johor. The momentous event was organised jointly with the Segamat Pastors and Leaders’ Fellowship and the Inter-faith ad hoc committee comprising all the major religions and Islam, which was represented by the Kadir’s office and Abim.

Among the guests were pastors and leaders from the Segamat churches, senior government officials such as the Segamat District Officer, Town Mayor, district judge, police officers and many religious and community leaders. The guest of honour was Y.B. Dato’ Hj Ayub Rahmat, Johor State Assembly Exco.

At the end of the dinner, Dato’ Ayub announced the formation of the Interfaith Committee that includes Muslim representatives and chaired by the Segamat District Officer. The committee is in the process of registering with the Registrar of Society. The committee is currently planning a Johor State Peace and Harmony dinner in 2016.
