Christians for Peace and Harmony in Malaysia (CPHM) was officially launched on June 2nd by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Razak at the Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Folks living in Rifle Range Flats, Penang, celebrated Malaysia Day together in a jovial and friendly manner at a Peace and Harmony dinner initiated by CPHM and organised by House of Hope Penang together with volunteers from churches. About 600 people, mainly Malays, turned up for the Sept. 16 dinner, which was graced by Y.B. Cheah Kah Peng, the State Assembly representative of Kebun Bunga, Penang.
Working together with the residents’ association of Taman Cuepacs, CPHM initiated a Majlis Jamuan Hari Raya for the majority Indian-Muslim community in Segambut on Aug. 13. The dinner event was attended by over 150 residents from the low-income community. CPHM Trustee Sreedhar Subramaniam shared briefly at the event, and Hari Raya.

As a testament to the growing positive relationship between CPHM and Perkasa, CPHM Trustees attended the Hari Raya open house at the home of Perkasa President Dato Ibrahim Ali on Aug. 7. CPHM Advisor Jason Leong and Chairman Rev. Wong Kim Kong were among those who attended, along with the ambassador from the Vatican to Malaysia, Apostolic Nuncio Joseph Marino.
The Ramadan season provided CPHM with good opportunities to connect with the Muslim community in informal and friendly settings. As such, CPHM and Muslim NGO Global Unity Network jointly organised a buka puasa session in Klang on July 2.
