Dialog PERKASA-CPHM perkembangan positif Shamsul Amri
KUALA LUMPUR: Pertemuan antara Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (PERKASA) dan Kristian untuk Perdamaian dan Harmoni di Malaysia (CPHM) semalam dilihat sebagai satu perkembangan positif.
Pengarah Institut Kajian Etnik (KITA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Prof Datuk Dr Shamsul Amri Baharuddin, berkata pertemuan dan sesi dialog antara kedua-dua pihak akan membina daya tahan kesepaduan di negara ini.
“Pertemuan ini adalah satu usaha positif untuk membuka lebih luas pintu komunikasi dan dialog antara rakyat pelbagai agama untuk memahami dan mendalami agama masing-masing,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan.
Shamsul Amri berkata, persoalan yang menyentuh soal agama adalah sensitif dan jarang dibincangkan secara seimbang dan terbuka oleh pihak yang berkepentingan, malah masing-masing sering dilihat akan mengeruhkan lagi keadaan.
Beliau berkata demikian mengulas laporan media mengenai sesi dialog antara PERKASA yang diketuai Presidennya, Datuk Ibrahim Ali dan CPHM yang diwakili Rev Wong Kim Kong dan Lee Min Choon di sini yang berjalan secara aman dan harmoni.
PERKASA dan CPHM bersetuju agar mereka harus berusaha untuk membetulkan salah faham seperti tanggapan bahawa terdapat perpecahan yang serius antara kumpulan berlainan agama di Malaysia.
Sehubungan itu, Shamsul Amri menyarankan PERKASA dan CPHM agar mengambil peluang keemasan untuk menganjurkan sesi dialog lain dan menjemput penganut Islam, Buddha, Hindu dan lain-lain lagi untuk menyertai perbincangan meja bulat dalam merangka dan mengatur program pendidikan mengenai agama masing-masing yang lebih menyeluruh untuk disampaikan kepada orang awam.
Beliau berkata, KITA-UKM bersama Jabatan Perpaduan Negara dan Integrasi Nasional (JPNIN) yang turut terbabit dalam menyediakan pelan perpaduan, kesepaduan dan penyatupaduan Malaysia bagi pihak Majlis Konsultatif Perpaduan Negara (MKPN) menyambut baik inisiatif yang dilakukan oleh PERKASA dan CPHM itu. – BERNAMA
